1. Finally here...

9 hours in the plane, 3 train changes one Burger King (oh yeah! couldn't Resist!!!) and 5 hours later we are finally here. Just finished unpacking my stuff and i'm back online.

Its about 6 o clock in the evening now, about 15 degrees and its drizzling outside and its beautiful and not a soul in sight. We passed through Heidelburg, Stuttgart and several other small towns and the thing that stood out most was the lack of people. The train was empty, which was actually a good thing, the roads were empty. There were tons of cars parked everywhere but not a person in sight anywere. It was poetic at first but soon started to irk me. After having learnt the art of weaving through Mumbai's Crowded roads it was kinda disturbing to see empty roads and almost eerie silence. Heike says this is not the case usually, just that the weather has been really bad lately and people just prefer to stay in. Really irritating??!! What I wouldnt give to see Mumbai perpetually in this state of weather. Its cold, its drizzling every now and then, the trees with their young leaves, cold breeze..... There's nothing like it.

Stuttgart was unlike the other town we saw on the way, it definitely seemed like it had more life. We didnt get much time there. had to switch trains. The trains are brilliant! They are fast, super comfortable and there is always lots of space to sit. The double decker ones are the best. Sitting on the top deck and looking out of the large windows as the beautiful landscape whizzes past, thats the way to travel. Take a Mumbai local to Igatpuri during late monsoon that is the closest, remote even ;), one can come to comparing this feeling.

Pictures of the winding wet roads and the white faced houses lining it will come later. But For now there is my bed. Oh! I love my bed! :) There's nothing like it. It has a skylight!!!! Take a lookbelow.

We are desperately trying to get the internet to work over the WLAN. We stay on the top floor, sorta the attic itself. But we have the whole section ourselves so its comfortable. Its just that its the fourth floor and there is no elevator. Excess fat, goodbye!

Here's me looking out of the skylight. I couldnt get more into this pic, the camera was very precariously placed and it now has a very powerful lens that I borrowed from a friend and i simply cannot afford to... umm.. lose.

We are going out tonight with our hosts and we will be meeting a few students from ESB Reutlingen as well, they would be travelling to Mumbai soon. It ought to be good. In Germany, there's no going out without lots of Beer. heh heh..

Till later..Salut!
